Albert Hotel Akita

This is not a type of a hotel I would normally book, but it was the only hotel available during the Akita Kanto festival. It was not the cheapest, but I must say that for the festival it was perfect, especially the location. The hotel is a bit worn out, but quite nicely decorated with painting and other objects. The single room was small but comfortable and it had everything I needed, the hairdryer, electric kettle, etc. I was particularly happy with the hanger in the bathroom for drying underwear. Such a tiny thing but so useful when one travels with small bag as I did. The place is very close to the festival, and after the main parade, it was interesting to see the continuation of the matsuri around the area of the hotel. The breakfast is a bit too pricy, the Japanese style. It was nice that there was coffee that can be taken to the room.

the staff are helpful, location is convenient and the local buffet breakfast was impressive.
